How it all began... Bernice
was a beautiful, gentle,
loving woman, Then out of the blue she became sick and in June 2003 Bernice James passed away. Bernice had been traveling and living all over the world. The misery she saw in many countries affected her deeply, especially the suffering of the children in Africa and Asia. Her dream was to make a difference in their life. There is a big community of adopted children from all over the world living in the Vancouver, BC, area. Bernice was very gifted. She created Christmas decorations for the children. There were angels that represented all the different races, boy angels and girl angels. All of them unique and lovingly created, beautifully dressed in the most exquisite style. The children loved them. This was her way of making a difference in their lives. Bernice was also a coach. In the last five years of her life, she was coaching many people and helped them to realize their dreams. After her untimely passing, her friends started a foundation in her memory. Her dream to make a difference with the children in the world was becoming a reality. In November 2004 we held the first big fundraiser. It has become an annual affair. We are now able to sponsor 15 families, a total of 64 people in India. This is only from the interest of the money we were able to raise. We hope to sponsor many more. In order to always have money to sponsor families and children, we decided that the capital will never be touched, only the interest. All the work of the foundation is done by volunteers. There are no legal fees, accounting fees, broker fees, no salaries, no rent. All the services are donated, so that we are able to use 100% of the money raised to support children of the world. We need your help. The money you donate to The Bernice James Foundation will continue to support families forever. Please donate. Remember:
